Hi everyone,

Do you think that we can keep our blogs going as a social network even though the subject is over?

I have done a 180 degree change of mind about the usefulness of blogging and would like to stay in touch with the others of you that have done this module.

I realise that not everyone might be interested. But for myself I would like to continue the contacts.

It is enjoyable to hear reactionary views in people that have not reached thirty years old. So different from the radical alternatives to education that was drummed into me in 1974 at the Hawthorn Technical Teachers College.

Regards, Bill Oldham

Don't know if anyone is reading this any more, but can someone tell me when marks will be posted online?  I read from Ted that he will email people with results.  Does this include assignment one and two results separately?

Thanks,

Betina

Bill's Forgotten Evaluation Questions (permalink)
Created on Monday, 06/09/2008 8:36 PM by Bill Oldham

Monday, June 9, 2009 posted by Bill Oldham

Good evening everyone.

Here are the evaluation questions for my Praze project. In the haste to  complete the two reviews of others, I forget this part completely.

My apologies for any  inconvenience that this may cause.

Regards, Bill Oldham

 Here are the questions:

Q1. Were the instructions presented in a logical sequence? How could they be improved?

Q2. Which multiple intelligences would be used by the students to complete tha activity?

Q3. Would the students enjoy the creation of their own personal blog with widgets? How could this part be improved?

Q4. How would you try to control abusive comments from one student to another if it is their own personal blog?

Q5. Was the connection between web 2.0 tools and the Year 11 and 12 virtual team assignments made clear?

Q6. Do students get the impression that anything on YouTube is just for entertainment rather than for personal learning? If so, how might this attitude be changed short of the use of a 4X2 on top of the head?

Hi everyone,

Here is a website that pretty well sums up what we have been doing for this unit.

It is aimed at TAFE teachers, so it is right up my alley.

Hope that you might be able to use it too.

Regards to everyone. Hope to see you online in Semester 2.

hi everyone,

Ted, how long should the report for assignment 2 be? Also, how do we get/allocate people to complete the tasks on my 'activity page' to then evaluate?? For the reports, i have followed the assignment descriptions so i hope they are what you expect. if they are missing anything, do you give the oppotunity for us to fix them up??

Here are my evaluation qns.....which can also be found on my ass 2 website.

PEER EVALUATION QUESTIONS

Please respond to these questions in the PEER EVALUATION SURVEY option in the left scroll bar

1. Was the Activity Centre easy to navigate?

2. Were the instructions for tasks explicit and clear? Were there any aspects which you found difficult to follow?

3. Do you think the tasks would engage the target group and extend their knowledge of dealing with money/the real world?

4. How do you think providing students with the oppotunity to create their own blogs etc allows them to learn about Web 2.0 resources? What could i have done better in this area?

5. Was the Jing tutorial beneficial to students completing the tasks? Why?

6. Is there an educational value of using discussion rooms, online surveys, uploading documents and navigating various websites for the target group?

7. What difficulties might the students face when using these Web 2.0 tools?

8. How do you think Sharepoint and blogging contributes to students online collaborative work?

9. Do you have any suggestions for my future planning using Web 2.0 resources?

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi Everyone

As I missed last week's class, I'm unsure what we are meant to be doing at this current moment.

What I mean by that is how I am meant to access the evaluation questions and how do we respond to them. Do we need to, or are they just posted for the sake of the task?

Can someone bring me up to speed?

Evaluation Questions For Assignment 2 (permalink)

Hi Everyone

I've just posted my evaluation questions via Praze. I'm posting them here as well (just in case).

They are at my blog, address above.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to reports - He He : )

Matt

THE QUESTIONS:

Do you believe the students would learn anything from completing this activity?

Creating a Podcast for the subject Multimedia was designed to encourage a better understanding of Multimedia. On a scale 1-10 (1= Very suitable, 10 = Not at all suitable) how suitable do you believe this task was for year 10 classes?

Do you believe the students would have been stimulated and engaged by the task set?

What could you see as problems with Podcasting in schools?

Do you believe the assessment criterion was understandable for everyone in year 10 classes to follow? What aspects, if any of the assessment would you change?

Was it easy to access all parts of the assignment I posted?

Instead of Youtube what else could have worked better for the posting of the trilogy of “how to” podcasts for assessment in this assignment?

What could have made the trilogy of “how to” podcasts better?

Should the assignment have an extension activity for quick working or very successful student? If so, what are some suggestions?

How do you believe this assignment would fit into VELS guidelines?

Hi Everyone,

I have just reviewed the 2 PRAZE assignments i was allocated and i can see these as being saved. Like others, i dont seem to have any reviews to see for my assignment. Does this mean the people who were allocated to review my work have not done it yet or is there another area i need to explore?

I have also added evaluation questions to my assignment two which you can view here. Dont forget the username: visitor01 and password: stlouis.

Also, i have created a powerpoint of my report for assignment one and uploaded this to my blog which you can view here. Ted, i will email you a copy to read.

This is such as busy time, writing reports, confirmation, organising interschool sports/Xcountry, uni and coordinating.Full on! I hope everyone is progressing with all their work and i hope to catch up with people through this blog soon Smile
